all the livelong day.<br \/>\nAn Appaloosa mare named Mazer picked her way along,<br \/>\nCarryin&#8217; Rainy Crawfish Jones where he&#8217;d been gone too long.<br \/>\nHis hat was pulled low, his duster soaked through,<br \/>\nThat muddy trail remembered everything he&#8217;d do.<\/p>\n<p>[Verse 2]<br \/>\nHenry Oaks stood easy by a weathered porch post,<br \/>\nAt Mr. Pup&#8217;s Saloon where the whiskey flowed most.<br \/>\nGood-lookin&#8217; Henry tipped his hat.<br \/>\n&#8220;My brother owns another place that&#8217;s better after that.&#8221;<br \/>\nBefore another sentence ever found the evening air,<br \/>\nTwo bouncers stormed the doorway with a hard and ugly stare.<\/p>\n<p>[Bridge]<br \/>\nOne grabbed Henry&#8217;s shoulder, one reached for his vest.<br \/>\nHenry dropped his cigar and gave &#8217;em both his best.<br \/>\nA table hit the doorway, boots flew through the rain,<br \/>\nThe sheriff never moved much, just watched the whole campaign.<br \/>\nRainy leaned on Mazer, smiling calm and slow.<br \/>\nSometimes the best entertainment is another fellow&#8217;s show.<\/p>\n<p>[Final Chorus]<br \/>\nIn Lasso, Kansas, where tomorrow ain&#8217;t a vow,<br \/>\nEvery man gets measured by the choices he makes now.<br \/>\nSome are quick with pistols, some are quick with jokes,<br \/>\nSome survive on whiskey, some survive on hope.<br \/>\nRainy rode in peaceful, though the town had other plans,<br \/>\nThat&#8217;s just another chapter in the life of western men.<\/p>\n<p>[Outro]<br \/>\nWhen the muddy road was moonlit and the stars began to shine,<br \/>\nOld Mazer pawed the ground while the church bell marked the time.<br \/>\nFolks still sing in Lasso when the fiddle starts to play,<br \/>\n&#8216;Bout Rainy Crawfish Jones&#8230;
